Sidney Carter

Sidney has always felt the need to give something back to the community. Through his work, he exemplifies the rich heritage of African Americans. He feels that our youth need positive role models. He likes to spendtime talking to and encouraging children. With this type of enthusiastic interaction, they realize that it is possible to realize their dreams.

Sidney has received many honors and has been the recipient of many proud moments. His first artistic accomplishment was made as a first grader when his art was recognized by the Mayor of Panama City, Florida, proclaiming the month of December Children's Art Month.

Sidney Graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degreee in Arts and Sciences with a major in Commercial Art. His talent as a football player earned him a four-year scholarship. While attending college, his art was chosen for many University publications. He designed the cover for the 1988 Football Media Guide which earned national recognition when it won First Place in a Collegiate Sport Information Directors Association national contest. Most recently, Sidney created the logo for an excellent New Orleans restaurant called, "The Praline Connection".

Throughout the years, Sidney's art has been enjoyed by thousands of people. Through his art, we can all be nostalgic and think about how life used to be...how it should be...and how it is.
