Dear HBA Sponsor:

H.B.A. is a collective of primarily African Art presenters, Preservers & Scholars. Over three hundred thousand viewers in eight cities nationally have enthusiastically welcomed our exhibitions of rare and authentic African sculpture.  We produce superior quality educational exhibitions of traditional African sculpture that have a contemporary social relevance. The unifying theme of all our exhibitions is to emphasize the original intent of African Sculpture as a visual means of perpetuating values, social order, stability, and ethical cultural continuity.

The demand for our exhibits, educational workshops and associated cultural programs by libraries and cultural art centers nationally requires me to seek sponsorship support to offset the limited resources of the venues we collaborate with for our exhibitions. I am offering the opportunity for your organization to participate as a sponsor of our national touring exhibits. “The Majesty of African Motherhood” is our most noted exquisite exhibit viewed by more than 70,000 people in seven cities and appeared in eight national publications and on numerous television shows. Comprising over 90 rare and authentic carved sculptures from Central and West Africa, along with works by contemporary African American artists and photographers, this exhibition has received critical acclaim from the public and scholars alike.

We have also produced exhibits at several international airports. The ground breaking cultural art exhibit, Symbolic Use of Animals in African Cultural Arts is now on exhibit at the T. terminal Gallery at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport until October 2008. This presentation may be the largest, most widely viewed exhibit of World Class African Traditional Sculptural Art ever displayed in a public space. This airport is utilized by
Aprox. 35 million people yearly.

Our goal is to target as our audiences, students, children and families and to instill in them the pride of their artistic heritage and awareness of centuries old, deeply held beliefs in family unity and responsibility to their communities. We choose libraries and cultural centers & alternative public venues to provide exposure to the general public & promote reading, and research skills, and the utilization of the library as an educational and cultural resource.

The exhibitions promote cultural and conventional literacy in a unique way that delights visitors as they interact with great works of art. Innovative educational programs directed and taught by our staff and visiting educators can attract a new generations of visitors, students, and families to imaginative and enlightening experiences in the world of art.

Our exhibits promote the use of effective traditional, cultural & social models. We live in a society where the roles and familial relationships between mothers, fathers and children are distorted and in conflict. Our children’s primary influences have become television, popular culture and their peers versus the rich familial cultural model of our ancestors dating back to ancient Egypt.

We think that our current project and workshops are very much aligned with your goals of community development. Due to the inspiration and overwhelming local and national response to this exhibition, established collectors and scholars have offered their services, financial support and artifacts to be utilized in our upcoming exhibit schedule.
The enormous response to our exhibitions has demonstrated that the artistic beauty, spiritual power and relevant social messages of African Sculpture, when broadly exposed will provide a sponsor vast market presence and cultural status with thousands of upper and middle-income African American patrons & the general pubic. The sponsorship of our exhibition’s  & educational programs will support your institutions efforts for positive national media exposure and demonstrate corporate community responsibility.

I am proud to invite you to sponsorship our exhibitions.
