Joachim McMillan Visual Artist
Joachim McMillan - Visual Artist.
Artist statement: “I want my paintings to have a feeling of action like a motion picture or with a motion effect."
Subjects: Paintings with e-motions.
Joachim McMillan: Born on the Caribbean Island of Grenada, West Indies. I am a self taught artist. My father, Loftus McMillan, is my biggest influence. I started painting with watercolors, acrylic for galleries in Grenada. I also drew cartoons for two of Grenada main newspapers as early as 15years old. In my early 20's, I migrated to New York City, where I got into study groups for emerging artist. I now reside in Oregon, where I collaborate with local artists and showcase my work at various galleries.
I paint with thoughts from my mind and with 'e-motions'. My paintings are an extract of action, energy and motion. I paint oils with the pallet knife, a style I like because it is just easier to work or manage. I like painting wet, it allows me to create motion in my paintings. My growing list of collectors love my new style. Seeing is believing! My aim is to be a world renowned artist with a unique style.

I always wanted to understand what Abstract Contemporary Art is. Looking at this site helps. I thing the painting "JOUVERT" - 30x40x1.5 - Oil painted with the pallet knife is beautiful.

"Latina" imaginative composition is my favorite work of art on this site. Perhaps it's the color or the BIG Bottom that I love. Any way the art is phat.

Congrats on this website, it is well crafted in that it takes you to many places that hold your attention. You should issue a warning, "come only if you have some time to spare". I enjoyed touring the artist's websites. I look forward to seeing their works in person.
Joachim McMillian is a brilliant visual artist. He has created and technique unlike other artist. The brillant colors, the images on the canvas... makes me feel like I'm a part of the art. It seems to be all around me. I can see the motion of the ocean. I can feel the warmth of the sun on the beautiful beach. I have yet to see his pieces in person, but I can haardly wait until he comes to Philadelphia in November. His may very well be the only purchase I make.
Joachim McMillian is brilliant! The vivid colors; the imagery; I love his use of tools. He makes the viewer a part of the piece. I actually felt I could be on that beach on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
